The Best Places to Fish in Pima County, AZ

There are some great places for fishing in Pima County, AZ, despite all the dry desert land! Located primarily around Tucson, these locations offer different types of fishing and fish species depending on the area. So make sure your license is current and check out these locations.

Lakeside Lake is located in Chuck Ford Lakeside Park off Stella Road. The park hosts an array of activities, so you’ll be sharing the lake with canoers. There are parking lots and restrooms close to the water, as well as ball fields nearby. The lake provides catfish, trout, bass and sunfish, as well as other species. Live baitfish is not allowed at this lake.

Kennedy Lake is in J.F. Kennedy Park off La Cholla Blvd. There are group ramadas around the lake as well as good parking areas and restroom facilities.  They also have a playground, sports fields, and a public swimming pool. Canoeing is allowed. In Kennedy Lake you’ll find catfish, bass, trout, sunfish and white amur as well as other species. Live baitfish is also prohibited at this location.

Silverbell Lake is located in Christopher Columbus Park off Silverbell Road. The park contains a playground, dog park, model airplane area, and boating. This lake also has catfish, sunfish, white amur, bass and trout. There are ramadas and large shade trees around the lake. Nearby Lake Archer is not a fishing area, but it allows model boats if you’re interested in that when you’re not fishing!

Coronado National Forest is another great place to fish. Only part of the forest is within Pima County, so adventure past the county line to find the best fishing spots in the national forest.
